The idea of Missing Link Ministries was birthed in the year 1997 out of a common passion shared by an Elder Church Deacon and an ordained Evangelist. The mission was to provide spiritual linkage and uplifting to the Austin Community in West Chicago, Illinois. Initially, the two began reaching out to residents in hopes of lifting spirits through study and fellowship. Through fellowship, Missing Link Ministries gained insight into perils faced by families. A Lack of jobs, financial resources, and educational opportunities for young adults presented obstacles for many residents. The insight prompted the father daughter ministry team to ask the question, "how can we be of more service to the community?" For Missing Link Ministries, providing linkage to supportive services for young adults to flourish was the answer to their question. The organization has since been committed to linking under resourced communities with programs aimed at fostering personal career growth, cultivating strong families, and building neighborhood bonds.
